WashSaleCalc is built so that your trades stay with you. This page explains exactly what happens to the information you enter.
What the calculator does with your trades
When you type a ticker we look up its last price. Your trades stay in your browser.
The price lookup sends only the ticker. It never sends your dates, share counts, prices or broker. Every calculation runs in your browser.
Saved trades
When you press Save, the trade is stored in your browser on this device, up to 3 trades. We can't see it. You can delete a saved trade any time, and clearing your browser data removes all of them. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is kept in your browser too.
No accounts, cookies, analytics or ads
The site has no sign-up, sets no cookies, and loads no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. All fonts, styles and scripts come from this site, and so does the price lookup. It contacts no other address.
Server logs
Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages and prices may keep standard access logs, such as IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time. A price lookup log shows the ticker you typed. These logs never include your dates, shares or prices.
Links to other sites
We link to sources such as the IRS, Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute and the NYSE. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
WashSaleCalc is meant for adults managing their own investments and is not directed at children.
